MVO organized a lecture and a bike ride for students of the Republican Institute of Higher Education. Experts from all over Belarus gathered in Minsk to improve their skills at the Department of Youth Policy and Socio-Cultural Communications of the RIVSH.
neither took the initiative to learn more about the development of cycling. At the meeting, the director of the Minsk Cycling Society Anastasia Yanchevskaya spoke about the history of cycling, the number of cyclists in Minsk and the world, cycling infrastructure and statistics. The most heated discussion was caused by the topic of taxation and the proposal to limit the speed for cyclists.
After the lecture, the students, together with the MBO team and volunteers, went on a bike ride. During the walk, the participants rode along the bike path, saw what bike crossings and bike road signs look like, and visited a successful example of a bike garage in the courtyard of a residential building.
The bike ride inspired everyone, after which the participants agreed: the bike is really a very convenient means of transportation. And the RIVS students had ideas for the development of cycling initiatives in their cities. We are always ready to support and look forward to news!
