On June 6, from 18.30 to 20.30, a public lecture from designers from the Netherlands will be held in the Brest Technopark (Pionerskaya street, 2nd floor, conference hall) Andre Pettinga and Vima Salomons “How to design a bicycle infrastructure in Brest? On urban cycling culture from the Dutch. " Admission is free, but by prior arrangement registration.

Cycling infrastructure designers André Pettinga and Wim Salomons have been working on the theme since the late 1960s, when modern Dutch cycling was in its infancy. They were not only witnesses but also creators of the boom in the modern Dutch cycling movement.

Dutch designers will visit Brest from 6 to 8 June to survey the central part of the city. They are ready to answer the listeners' questions about how you can develop cycling in our country, as well as talk about the long-term Dutch experience.

After the lecture, a discussion is planned on how the Dutch experience can help Belarus become a cycling country. The discussion will be attended by representatives of the Minsk Cycling Society and the educational institution "For VeloBrest".

The event will primarily be of interest to designers of bicycle infrastructure, as well as city activists, journalists and ordinary cyclists.

The number of places is limited, so we ask you to fill out a short registration form before June 5 by 23.00. The exact location of the event will be announced registered participants.

The event was organized by the Minsk Cycling Society, the educational institution "For VeloBrest" and the Center for Environmental Solutions within the framework of the project "Urban Cycling in Belarus" with financial support from the European Union.
