The project allows adult residents of Minsk to learn how to ride a bicycle. To become a pupil or a student of a cycling school, you only need a desire - you can come to classes even without your own bike.
Participation in the school is absolutely free, you only need register... Starting this year, we are admitting children over 10 years old to the cycling school. And we invite parents of toddlers to the classes: the instructors will tell them what to do in order to teach the children how to ride a bike.
The cycling school has been operating since 2014 every warm season from June to the end of October. Classes are held twice a week in any weather: on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 18.00 to 20.00. Gathering place - by the fountain in the park. Yanka Kupala.
On average, it will take 3-5 sessions to learn to understand the necessary traffic rules and start feeling confident behind the wheel of a bicycle. Several hundred Minsk dwellers receive certificates of completion of training in a cycling school in one season.
If you already know how to ride a bike, you can join the school as volunteer instructors... The school also accepts donations. For the funds raised last year, they managed to buy another bicycle for training. Now there are four of them at the school's disposal.
The cycling school is a public non-profit project of the Minsk Cycling Society, the goal of which is to give people the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike from scratch. The project has been operating in Minsk since 2014. Since 2017, the cycling school has been financially supported by the European Union within the framework of the Urban Cycling in Belarus project.
