There is a very dangerous place on the bicycle path in the Minsk Gorky Park: a passage under the bridge connecting the park with Karl Marx Street. For some reason, the designers of the cycle path decided to disclaim responsibility in this place and "broke" the cycle path, leaving the cyclists to decide for themselves how and where to ride, so as not to collide with each other and pedestrians. In 2012, at least one head-on collision of cyclists has already occurred here.

A bicycle driver approaching a bridge needs to solve several problems at once: how not to fly into the river, how not to collide with an oncoming cyclist, how not to knock down a pedestrian walking / running along the embankment, how not to knock down pedestrians going down the stairs to the embankment or crossing the path to climb up - all this requires a lot of concentration. As a result, even if it is possible to pass this place without incident, the cyclist experiences considerable stress and discomfort.
Today, MBO activists decided to try one of the ways to solve the problem, marking with chalk the approximate contours of the bicycle path, how it could have passed if it had not been torn apart.
It turned out that there is enough space under the bridge for cyclists to pass and pedestrians to pass easily, you just need to tell them where it is better to go and go.
The result is in the photo.
According to the first reviews of cyclists, the ride has become noticeably more comfortable. MVO plans to interview cyclists who have visited this site in the near future. If it really turns out that the ride has become noticeably more comfortable and safer, then an official proposal will be developed and we will try to ensure that the temporary chalk contours are replaced by real permanent markings.
