On February 14, the annual action “Cycling to work in winter” (#winterbiketowork) will take place around the world. The idea of the worldwide campaign is to draw attention to the topic of using the bicycle as a means of transport at any time of the year.
Last year, as part of this action, the team of the Minsk Cycling Society treated cyclists to coffee / tea with sweets in a coffee shop in the center of Minsk, and also held a photo contest on social networks.
Then the action was financially supported by the European Union.
In 2020, the MBO team is looking for new sponsors to repeat the bright and inspiring winter campaign.
How can you support the action?
- become a friendly coffee shop that will treat customers on bicycles on February 14;
Treat once, and then loyal cyclists will come to you for coffee all year round.
- become a sponsor of treats;
- to provide the most active participants of the action with symbolic gifts;
For example, thermo mugs, sports equipment, certificates for your services.
- buy fruits / sweets on your own and treat them to cyclists on one of the city streets;
This was done by a schoolboy in St. Petersburg. The guy bought several kilograms of fruit, put a table on the street and treated all the cyclists passing by him in the morning.

The campaign “To work on a bike in winter” in 2019 was covered by all the leading media in Belarus: the Tut.by portal, the STV TV channel, the Belarus 1 TV channel, the Belsat TV channel, the Belta agency, the Minsk News agency. In total, more than 20 publications about the action were published in the Belarusian mass media.
Partners and sponsors who support the action will be noted in press releases, as well as announcements of the event on the website and social networks of the Minsk Cycling Society.
In 2019 Minsk took the 12th place in the world in terms of the number of participants in the winter action “Cycling to work in winter” and 1st place among the cities of the post-Soviet countries.
In total, 173 people from the capital of Belarus officially took part in the action.
