On August 17, at 17.00 on the rowing canal in Brest, the cycling festival "Bicycle for every day" will begin. The aim of the action is to popularize the bicycle as an urban form of transport.
In a programme:
• meeting with famous athletes and sportswomen;
• master classes;
• encouragement of active cyclists;
• photo zones;
• performances with stylish bicycles;
• cycling relay;
• bike show.
Anyone can join the holiday. The organizers invite both adult cyclists, for whom relay races, quizzes, an amateur marathon have been prepared, and children, who are waiting for a bike ride.
Entry and entry are free.
The event was organized by an outreach institution "For Velo Brest" together with the Brest City Executive Committee with the support of the Brest Regional Center of Olympic Reserve in rowing within the framework of the campaign "Business bike".
The holiday is held within the framework of the project "Urban Cycling in Belarus", with the financial support of the EU. The goal of this project is to promote the development of urban cycling in Belarus through improvements in legislative and regulatory acts for cycling infrastructure at the national and regional levels; increasing the efficiency of organizations in the field of promotion and development of the bicycle transport system; ensuring the active participation of local residents in drawing the attention of city authorities to the rights and opportunities of cyclists. The project will be implemented in Belarus in 2017-2019 by the Center for Environmental Solutions and the Minsk Cycling Society with financial support from the European Union.
