For the first time, a team of cyclists participates in the competition of social projects with the idea of creating an interactive playground for cyclists and not only in the city - VeloCafe.

The Brest-Belovezhskaya Pushcha bus will have a bicycle rack for 5 seats
The Brest campaign to promote bicycle racks on intercity buses has already borne fruit. In a few months, a pilot bus with places for bicycles will leave along the Brest-Belovezhskaya Pushcha route. If the tests are successful, then the solution will be replicated.
- The process of creating and testing a prototype will take several months, - noted the chief engineer of OJSC "Brestmash" Alexey Brazhuk... - At the moment, the location of the bike rack, the type of attachment, the minimum possible number of bicycles have been determined.
A pilot copy of the bike rack will be developed and manufactured at the Brest Machine-Building Plant (JSC "Brestmash"). If the tests are successful, in the future such trunks will be installed on the MAZ and MAN intercity buses.

Mobile bike rental (bike sharing) to be launched in Grodno this spring
Grodno enthusiasts are preparing a mobile application that will allow you to rent and return a bike almost anywhere. With the idea of presenting such a startup, they made an appointment with the chairman of the Grodno City Executive Committee and were able to get support from the city administration.
The pilot project is planned to be launched in mid-March. Geolocation of new parking lots - large facilities and shopping centers. The original idea for Belarus will be tested on 17 bicycles equipped with smart locks. To begin with, the travel roadmap will be narrowed down to the central part of the city, but in case of successful launches, the idea will be scaled to the whole of Grodno. More details here.
The first bicycle coffee shop appeared in Grodno
The bicycle coffee shop "vike cup" was launched by Egor and Alexey from Grodno. Since February 1, she has been working in the Neman trading house. As the weather warms, the guys plan to go to the streets of the city and to various festivals.
They say that the first cycle cafes appeared in the Netherlands. Grodno residents spied on the idea in Italy.
There are already several similar projects in Belarus, but not all of them are mobile. Grodno residents plan to go to the streets of the city in the summer. On this occasion, they are now negotiating with the city executive committee.

Part of VeloGrodno's proposals were included in the General Plan
At the end of 2018 - beginning of 2019, a public discussion of the General Plan of Grodno until 2030 took place. Within two months, residents of Grodno could study the proposed documents and make their own proposals.
The public association of cyclists VeloGrodno considered how the development of cycling was taken into account in the environmental report and the Basic Provisions and made its own proposals. All questions and suggestions were sent to the Grodno Executive Committee and Belniipgradostroitelstvo.

Already walks confidently. VeloGomel is one year old!
On February 21, exactly one year has passed since the official registration of the regional public association "VeloGomel". On January 26, the organization's team held its first general meeting: they presented the results of last year, reported on the use of funds received in the form of admission fees, and thanked the sponsors.
What are the citizens of cyclists most proud of?
- the creation of a working group for the development of cycling at the city executive committee and the entry of representatives of the VeloGomel association into it;
- successful holding of the International Cycling Festival "Between Sozh and Dnieper";
- presentable performance of the VeloGomel team to us at the PraRovar international forum;
- a team of 75 official members.

Also, in honor of the birthday, the board of the organization decided to make a gift to people who have shown themselves as active cycling residents and to accept them into the NGO "VeloGomel" without an entrance fee. Names and photos of the lucky ones here.
How Brest travels "Cycling to work in winter"
On February 8, Brest has traditionally supported the #winterbiketowork campaign.
In support of the global campaign on winter cycling in Brest, a photo and bicycle story competition was held, as well as a campaign for free coffee / tea distribution for cyclists and cyclists in the cafe "Koritsa".
The city above the Bug entered the first hundred cities-participants of the action in the world ranking and became the second city in Belarus in terms of the number of cyclists registered in the action (31 people).

Gomel is coming! 50 cyclists joined the action "Cycling to work in winter"
Gomel entered the top 200 cities participating in the international action #winterbiketowork. Despite the fact that only 6 people registered on the official website of the event, many more people joined their Gomel actions. This means there is a potential to become even more visible on the world cycling map next year!
On the evening of February 8, VeloGomel in partnership with the Minsk Cycling Society, the Center for Environmental Solutions and mini-coworking "Pile stick" held a bicycle tea party for those who choose cycling in any weather. For tea from the double bass and healthy pastries, 50 cyclists and cyclists from all over the city dropped in.

Mogilev entered the top 100 participants of the action "Cycling to work in winter"
The team of the Tuteyshy Rovar cycling initiative this year took over the coordination of the international winter action “Cycling to Work”.
In support of the international campaign, Mogilev activists conducted photo competition, as well as an action to treat cyclists with coffee / tea with sweets.
Mogilev became the third largest participating city and took 88th place in the world ranking.

In 2018, 31 accidents involving cyclists occurred in the Grodno region (3 more than in 2017). Cyclists were responsible for 14 accidents, and motorists - 17. Most accidents with cyclists on country roads are due to violations of the rules of maneuvering.
In the Grodno region in 2018, 5065 cyclists were brought to administrative responsibility for traffic violations (in 2017 - 5393). Of these, 966 are in Grodno. Most of the violations are related to driving on the carriageway and crossing pedestrian crossings without dismounting.

Guys who stole bicycles from entrances detained in Grodno
Two guys born in 1992 and 1999 "worked" in the dark at the entrances of high-rise buildings in the city, and some of the bicycles they stole were equipped with special locks, which did not prevent the intruders. At the moment, their involvement in seven episodes has been established. The suspects are checked for involvement in the commission of other crimes of a similar nature.
They pawned five bicycles in a pawnshop, one sold on the market, and the last one was thrown away because it was unusable.
As before, the peak of such thefts is the spring-summer period, however, due to the fact that a large number of two-wheeled horses "winter" in the entrances, the facts of thefts are still being recorded. Read more about solving the crime. here.
