Lecture on inclusive design from an architect from Kiev

   

       

On February 23 at the Belarusian Union of Architects (Minsk, Marksa str., 14) a lecture “Inclusive design. Taking into account the requirements for the urban environment of special groups on the experience of Kiev. " And on February 24, it will be possible to apply the knowledge of the lecture in practice. Architects, designers, sociologists, city officials and other specialists interested in the topic are invited to participate. Admission is free, but by prior arrangement registration... Limited number of seats.

Participants and participants of the event will study foreign experience in designing an urban environment, taking into account the needs of special groups: cyclists, families with children, the elderly and people with disabilities, and then will be able to apply the experience gained on the central streets of Minsk.

February 23 (Minsk, st.Marksa, 14) 

11: 00-13: 00 Special lecture. Discussion of the importance of mechanisms for taking into account the needs of different groups in the process of designing an urban environment. Presentation of examples of the implementation of such projects in Ukraine. Open discussion.
13: 00-14: 00 Lunch break.
14: 00-16: 00 Discussion of the possibility of implementing similar projects in Belarus.

February 24 (Minsk, st.Marksa, 14)

12: 00-13: 00 Acquaintance of participants with the results of sociological research.
13: 00-15: 00 Practical part of the special lecture. Walk down the street. Carrying out a street survey (Komsomolskaya str. - Revolutionary str.).
15: 00-16: 00 Analysis of survey results, summing up, development of proposals for changing the environment.

About the Lecturer. Dana Kosmina - an architect, designer, activist from Kiev, worked on urban planning projects in the post-Soviet space and France, presented projects at M17 (Kiev), VCRC (Center for Visual Culture, Kiev), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Warsaw, at the Burning Man festival.

Event organizers:  Minsk Cycling Society and the Center for Environmental Solutions in partnership with the Dobry Gorad initiative and the Urban Tactics almanac. The event was supported by the European Union within the framework of the Urban Cycling in Belarus project.
